The
STAAR TEST is just another test, but to succeed learning preparation is
required. In my message to the staff and parents, it's a not-so-new
approach coming from the state and Jensen Elementary. Rigor, Relevance
and Relationships are the three R's needed for STAAR success. The
teachers use rigorous lessons and curriculum, including vocabulary, to
help our students succeed. The subject matter becomes relevant to
the students, and they make "hands on" experiences happen in the
classroom. This will create a class of students excited about
learning. Relationships is when one takes the time to know and
understand a child. These relationships can prove productive and help
our students when testing because they have been inspired to
succeed. The STAAR test is here to stay, so we must make the best of it
and prepare our students accordingly.
