Attendance is VERY important
*****Reminders*****
The Texas Education Agency requires the following:
1.
On page 36, (7-4), "A school day shall be at least seven (7) hours each
day, including intermissions and recesses. TEC 25.082 (a)
2.
On page 31, (5-2) "State law requires that a student must be enrolled
for at least two hours (120 minutes) of daily instruction to be
considered in membership for one-half and for at least four hours (240
minutes) of daily instruction to be considered in membership for one
full day. 19 TAC 129.21 (h)."
What
does this mean for you? All pre-kinder students must be in attendance
for two hours in order to be counted present for the entire day. All
students in grades K-6th must be in school until 12 noon in order for
them to be counted present for the entire day. All students being picked
up before this time will be marked absent for the day. We understand
that emergencies do occur, you will be able to pick up your child from
school at your discretion but, if you pick them up before noon, they
will be marked absent for the entire day.
Also,
as a reminder, the tardy bell rings at 8:05 a.m. Any student not in
class by this time must get a tardy slip from the front office.
Your
child's education is of great importance and the only way they can
fully benefit from the education provided is that they be in school all
day when possible. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this
matter.
Sincerely,
Niranda Flores,
Principal
